Questions
Before you measure
Is it free?
Yes. There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for. Your answers stay in your own browser, so the next visit picks up where you left off.
How do I measure my hand?
Length runs from the crease of your wrist to the tip of your middle finger. Width runs across your knuckles, thumb excluded. A ruler works, or the measure page can read both from a photo.
Which grip do I use?
Hold your mouse the way you normally would. If your whole palm rests on it, that's palm. If only the back of your palm touches and your fingers arch, that's claw. If only your fingertips touch, that's fingertip.
What does the score mean?
It's how close a mouse's length, width and height sit to the ideal for your hand and grip. A mouse has to suit you on every count, so one that's badly off in one size can't make up for it elsewhere.
A mouse I love scores low. Why?
The ranges are a starting point, not a rule. Name that mouse in the form and say it feels just right, and your ideal shifts toward it.
Does it work for left hands?
Yes. Choose left hand and ergonomic mice shaped for the right hand drop out. Symmetrical mice with side buttons on the wrong side are flagged on their card.
Where do the measurements come from?
Most come from an independent catalogue of measured mice. Where a brand publishes length, width, height and weight on its own product page, those official numbers take priority. Both are checked twice a week.
How does MouseShape make money?
Some buy links are affiliate links, including Amazon's. That never changes a score: the ranking is the fit, and nothing else.
